Give the brief
Who it is for, the bet in board language, the horizon. What you already decided. That is enough to start.

Answer what the brief never contains
Scale, workstreams, what is already live, what must be true in year one, who decides, what you will not do. Coverage has to reach 80% before we compose.

We draft the board
Swimlanes, modules, children, milestones, a sequence. Objectives are proposed from the bet and the work — you confirm or rewrite them. You open a canvas that is mostly done.

Ask the board
A briefing over this roadmap: what is dated, what carries the strategy, what has no owner, what is gated, what is thin, what waits on what. It reads the board. It does not invent. It does not edit.
